Updating or Adding 'Hosted Layers'
Purpose/Overview
Navigation Path:
To access this feature, go to Utilisphere > System Management > Administration > General > Map Layers
Key Benefits/Use Cases:
- Enhanced map visibility: Easily overlay custom GIS data (such as utility lines, boundaries, or landmarks) on your maps for better situational awareness.
- Flexible layer control: Use the Layer Picker to turn layers on or off as needed, so you can focus on what’s relevant for each task.
- Seamless integration: Combine your organization’s GIS data with Utilisphere tools for a more complete and customized mapping experience.
Things to Know:
- Only users with admin-level access can import ESRI Map Layers
- UtiliSphere support cannot assist with internal network settings, authentication protocols, or ESRI server configurations. Please work with your internal IT or ESRI support team for these items.
- If the layer turns red, this means there is an issue with the token from Step 3.
How It Works:
Follow these steps to import custom ESRI map layers:
- Go to Utilisphere > System Management > Administration > General > Map Layers
- From the menu on the left, click Add a Map Layer.
Once updated, users can use the Layer Picker on their map to turn custom layers on or off as needed.
