The Duplicate Photo Lookback feature has been implemented in UtiliSphere to identifying and excluding duplicate photos from the # of Valid Images count. This feature ensures that photos reused from previous tickets within a 30-day period are flagged as invalid and do not contribute to the smart scoring mechanism.
Hashcode Generation for Photos
- A unique hashcode (digital fingerprint) is now generated and stored for every photo uploaded to a ticket in UtiliSphere.
- This hashcode will be used to identify and compare photos uploaded in the last 30 days to detect duplicates.
Duplicate Photo Detection
- Photos that match the hashcodes of images uploaded in the past 30 days will be flagged as invalid.
- Invalid photos will not be included in the # of Valid Images count for the most recent ticket.
Smart Score Impact
- Duplicate photos flagged as invalid will not contribute to the smart score calculation, improving the accuracy of the photo AI system and maintain the integrity of the data.
Workflow Changes
Photo Upload Process
- Users or contractors will continue to attach photos to tickets as usual.
- Upon attachment, the system will automatically generate and store the photo’s hashcode.
Validation
- When a new photo is uploaded, the system compares its hashcode with previously uploaded photos within the last 30 days.
- If a match is found, the photo will be flagged as invalid and excluded from the # of Valid Images count.
Feedback
- Users will receive feedback on the photo's status (valid or invalid) based on the duplicate check.
