We would like to request a real-time GPS tracking feature for field locators within IRTH Utilisphere.

Operational Need

Today, dispatchers and supervisors have limited real-time visibility of where technicians are physically located during field operations and emergency response situations.

Adding live locator visibility on the map would significantly improve:

  • Emergency dispatch response times
  • Field supervision and auditing
  • Ticket closure verification
  • Workforce accountability
  • Operational efficiency
  • Safety coordination

Real-World Use Cases

Emergency Dispatching

Dispatchers could immediately identify and assign the closest available technician to emergency tickets.

Field Audits & Supervision

Managers could quickly locate technicians in the field for:

  • random audits
  • safety inspections
  • support escalation
  • operational supervision

Ticket Closure Validation

This feature would help identify situations where tickets may be closed:

  • from home
  • outside the ticket area
  • without physical presence at the work location

Suggested Capabilities

  • Live GPS visibility on dispatch map
  • Locator breadcrumbs / movement history
  • Last known location timestamp
  • Tracking enabled only during working hours or active assignments
  • Mobile app integration
  • Optional geofencing and audit reporting

Business Impact

This functionality would greatly improve operational visibility and emergency coordination for companies managing large locator teams and high ticket volumes.

As field operations continue becoming more data-driven and accountability-focused, real-time workforce visibility is becoming operationally critical.

We would appreciate Product Management review and feedback regarding the possibility of adding this capability to the Utilisphere roadmap.
