Managing Help Files


Purpose/Overview

This article explains how to add and manage help files in your system, including uploading support documents or linking to external resources.


To access help information, go to Utilisphere > System Management > Administration > General > Help Files

Key Benefits/Use Cases:

  • Centralized Help Resources: All help documents and links are stored in one place, making it easy for users to find guidance when it's needed.


Things to Know:

  • Permissions: Admin-level access is required to modify Help Files.


How It Works:

The Help Files section is used to store any reference materials or internal process documentation. This ensures easy access and consistency across the team. 


Adding a Help File

  1. On the Manage Help Files page, click Add a Help Item in the left column.

  2. Fill out the following fields on the Add Help Item page:
  • Category: This field is used to group help files by topic. Select an existing category from the dropdown menu or click New... to create a new one.


  • Description: The information in this field is a short description that appears next to the file name.
  • Friendly Name: The text added to this field is the clickable name that appears on the Manag Help Files page
  • Type: Choose one of the following for this field:
  1. File – Upload a help document by clicking Browse to select a file from your device.
  2. Link – Provide the URL to an online help resource.

  3. Click Save to finish.


Editing an Existing Help File

  1. On the Manage Help Files page, locate the help file you want to edit.


  2. Click Edit to the right of the file name.


  3. Update the desired fields and click Save.
