Use Case:
In many support and troubleshooting scenarios, users experiencing sync delays, stuck actions, or general app performance issues are advised to clear the app’s cache. While this is a relatively common fix, it currently requires users to either offload or delete and reinstall the app entirely.
This process isn’t intuitive (or even accessible) for all users—especially those less familiar with device settings or whose IT/security teams manage app installs. It often leads to delays in resolution and increased frustration, especially when support is needed just to walk through these steps.
Proposed Enhancement:
Enable a direct “Clear Cache” option within the app’s OS-level settings (e.g., Settings > Apps > [App Name]) as a clearly visible action. This is a standard pattern supported on both Android and iOS by many enterprise applications and would simplify the cache-clearing process without requiring less intuitive workarounds or support involvement.

Business Impact:

  • Reduces support burden by minimizing tickets related to sync delays or general performance issues.

  • Improves the end-user experience by enabling a fast, self-service resolution for a common issue.

  • Prevents unnecessary downtime caused by incomplete troubleshooting or app reinstallation.

  • Aligns with UX best practices already adopted by other modern mobile applications.

By surfacing this option more clearly, it will empower users to take quick, effective action—keeping workflows moving and reducing reliance on support for basic troubleshooting.
