DigTix v35 Release Notes (Incident Alerts, Follow Up Alerts and Close Code Triggers, Send Route to Phone, and More!)

ALERTS FOR INCIDENTS AND FOLLOW UPS


Phone call, text message, and email alerts for locate requests have been a core feature of DigTix for years. We are excited to announce that these great alerting features are now available for incidents and follow ups.


Users may be alerted for these work order types based on:


  • Priority: Emergency, High, Routine, etc.
  • Event Type: Work received vs work assigned to a specific user.
  • Event time: Normal hours vs after hours.


These alerts are designed to ensure the appropriate resources are available wherever and whenever they are needed for your damage prevention and safety activities.

CLOSE CODE FOLLOW UP TRIGGERS


Close codes may now be configured to trigger a follow up for the locate request that the close code is applied to. Simply select the type of follow up that should be triggered for the desired close code. A follow up of that type will be generated and automatically assigned to the appropriate personnel. And an alert may be automatically sent to the appropriate individuals as well (see "ALERTS FOR INCIDENTS AND FOLLOW UPS" above!).


This configuration option can be extremely useful for automating your organization's workflows - ensuring the best people and resources are directed to the appropriate situations.

SEND ROUTE TO PHONE


After planning your route, it is now possible to send the route to your mobile device's mapping application. This provides a single-click method to get voice navigation turn-by-turn directions on your tablet or phone.

Clicking the "Send route to mobile device" button within DigTix will send a link to your mobile device via text message. Clicking on this link will open your mapping application, providing access to the multi-stop route you created within DigTix. Voice navigation turn-by-turn directions are the safest and most efficient way to get to your locate requests!

If a phone number is not configured on the user's account, an email will be sent which contains the route link.



EXTERNAL MAP SOURCE SECURITY TOKENS


Integration with external map sources now supports security tokens. This provides the ability to securely display non-public GIS data from third party web map services ("WMS") within DigTix. Integrations with ESRI ArcGIS Server and Geoserver are supported.


If the map server is publicly available, no security token needs to be configured.

ANNOUNCEMENT ISSUANCE AND EXPIRATION


Announcements may now be configured (a) to be issued on a future date and time; and (b) expire after a specified date and time. An announcement will not be shown to users until the issue time has passed, and it will be shown to users until the specified expiration time.


DigTix will continue to prompt each user to acknowledge issued announcements before being able to access the rest of the DigTix application. Once a user acknowledges an announcement, DigTix will no longer prompt that user to acknowledge that announcement upon logging into DigTix.

EMPLOYEE AND OQ TRACKING


DigTix users may now be configured with their employee ID, employment start date, and employment end date. This can be used to manage and track experience and company tenure.


Operator Qualification ("OQ") IDs and expiration dates may also be managed and tracked within DigTix.


All of these new fields are also available within the DigTix BI Suite for visualization and reporting purposes.

RISK SCORE MODIFIERS FOR CUSTOM FIELDS


Risk score modifiers may now be defined for fields which are specific to your organization. Any of the custom locate request fields you've defined may be used to increase or decrease the risk score of locate requests as they are received or serviced.

TICKET ASSIGNMENT IMPROVEMENTS


Several UX improvements have been included to streamline and simplify the configuration of ticket assignment conditions. 

The following fields have been added for use within ticket assignment conditions:


  • Incidents: Internal Priority
  • Follow Ups: Internal Priority, Excavator Company Name, Work For.



MISCELLANEOUS


This DigTix release contains a considerable amount of "under the hood" improvements which provide the foundation for many exciting future features and improvements.

  • Bug fixes and minor enhancements
